I said you're kidding me, there in the car, He's been coming here for three years, shots always up to date. I just did not want to pass the cat adoption table again.

Went here yesterday with my kids around 3 pm. My son, who is incredibly enamoured with all things scaly and the camera function of his Nintendo DS, was excitedly taking photos of some of the aqua blue iguanas, remarking they were “his favorite”, only to scolded and told that “pictures aren’t allowed” by an employee. He wasn’t using a flash, so there was no chance this activity was detrimental to the animals. I know for a fact that this is NOT company policy (I worked for Petco not even a year ago), and I can only imagine she was picking on him because either he was a child or she was worried about him taking pictures of the sub-standard care their reptiles receive at Petco stores (anyone with a shred of reptile husbandry knowledge can back that claim up). Pretty disgusting way to treat a child, especially an enthusiastic one.

Been visiting this location for three years. I brought our dog in for a bath and nails trimmed for a scheduled appointment. He is a 100 pound Ridgeback. When we came in there was a cat adoption table set up with cats in cages between the front door and the grooming counter ( not smart) ofcourse, our dog went crazy. I made it to the counter and told the girl I'd have to run back out to the car to grab his updsted shot records. I went to hand her his leash and she said no, I can't hold him. So I said well then take him in and put him in kennel. She said no, company policy until she had shot records.

We purchased a robotic litter box for almost $200. Two weeks went by after our cats finally used up their old litter and we went to install the robotic box. Surprise, surprise, the robotic litter box was supposed to come with the crystal litter and tray but that was missing. Further inspection of the box shows what we got was an open item, returned box that someone didn’t return with everything that they were supposed to. I called Petco to swap this open item with missing items out for a new box since that’s what we were supposed to be purchasing. I was informed without the receipt we couldn’t even swap out the robotic used box for the appropriate new one. I know very well companies can pull up their copies of receipts. Now I have to deal with sitting on a never ending hold for assistance from corporate offices. I will never shop at pet co again.

There is a fine line between company policy and common sense. I'm sure she was referring to not accepting animals without shot records. However, every year for the last three years we've brought in updated records. Did she believe I was lying about having them in the car? Was I going to leave my beloved pet there and not come back with the records? Come on Petco! A little common sense and good customer service is all it takes to be a good service provider.

This is the place where we shop for pet supplies most of the time. There are staff here that are great, but there is always the occassional person who isn't very personable. We find that those people don't usually stay very long. Sometimes they have an item on clearance, but then those items are already gone so fast, it's hard to benefit from those deals.

She was persistent so I said, if I go back to the car with him, I'm not coming back in. So might as well cancel the appointment. She said okay.

Over the last 3 days I have been losing a couple of my fish so I brought in a sample of my water today and I spoke with Andrew who is very very knowledgeable about fish tanks and actually taught me quite a few new things about my aquarium
