Just recently have birth to my son this month and I, my husband and in laws were not impressed by many things. The list is lengthy, and long enough to NOT recommend this place for giving birth and I will definitely not come here for my next child. A few things include not having a lactation consultant come help me, as I had asked for one, and being that I just gave birth, I wasn't quite with it to remember to tell them again. I was told they would give me iron twice a day, I had to ask for it once my 2nd dose was due and they said they had no record of that. Then being discharged, we were incredibly rushed we forgot a few things. Not to mention the financial lady was literally speed walking towards us as we were leaving the room and blocked us in so she could harass us about our fees, for the 2nd time. These were just a few things that really made our experience here disappointing.
My wife just delivered our daughter here. The doctors / Nurses / rooms are top notch - no complaints whatsoever on the care front. Billing is another story. Very early the morning of discharge, the lady from that department comes in to "ask" for payment. I wasn't there at the time but less than 5 minutes after i arrive, the bedside phone rings with the same lady pushing for payment. We're covered by UHC, it's not like we're dead beats, we have a history at the location and always pay our responsibility... I headed downstairs and paid the estimated amount but I just think it's rude to treat a new mother like this and it didn't end there... they incorrectly filed some of the claims with medicaid and when denied (as they should be), we start getting letters starting with "We at Florida Hospital strive to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ..." followed by not so veiled demands for payment in full for several thousand bucks. A couple of calls later and things are ok, but billing department needs some work in bedside manner, in reviewing accounts before sending out threatening letters, and for whatever reason to stop defaulting claims to medicaid (this happened for multiple checkups / non-stress tests we had before admittance as well).
The staff here are amazing my mom had two strokes and is treated here like a queen the nurse S are fabulous they treat there patient very well highly recommend this hospital nurses always have a smile and they are very helpful
Answered the October Breast cancer $30 "ad". Now after being billed for an extra $77.25 and now getting billed for another$113.31 for Radiology Specialist. This was a scam and thought I was getting a "deal". i called and they said they would look into it and that I had to call the Radiologist on my own. Never again and shame on you.
Came here to get some help from my wisdom teeth surgery that was so painful i found it hard to breathe and ended up with a 3 hour wait before any action was taken. I also had to make another visit the same week because the problem came back. This hospital has the worst service i could ever imagine. Thanks for nothing
